Barloworld Equipment is seeking an experienced and disciplined Security Site Supervisor to oversee all on-site security operations within KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing security personnel, ensuring compliance with company procedures, maintaining site safety, and responding effectively to incidents and security threats.
This role requires strong leadership ability, operational security experience, and the capability to manage teams in a high-pressure environment while maintaining strict control and professionalism.
🧾 Key Responsibilities
Security Team Supervision
Lead, supervise, and manage all on-site Security Officers
Ensure officers are properly deployed, alert, and performing duties correctly
Manage shift handovers and ensure timely relief of personnel
Operational Control & Compliance
Ensure all staff comply with company SOPs and access control procedures
Maintain discipline, professionalism, and proper conduct at all times
Monitor adherence to standing orders and operational instructions
Incident Management & Reporting
Take immediate control of all incidents until escalation to senior management
Record all incidents, short postings, and observations in the Occurrence Book (O/B)
Report security breaches and incidents within required timeframes
Monitoring & Security Systems
Respond to alarms and security alerts promptly
Review CCTV footage for investigations when required
Test armed response service efficiency regularly
Administration & Communication
Maintain accurate shift rosters and daily postings
Provide daily feedback reports to the Senior Manager: Security Operations
Brief incoming teams on incidents and operational updates
Risk Management
Identify security vulnerabilities and recommend improvements
Ensure guards remain vigilant and report suspicious activity
🎓 Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Matric (Grade 12)
Security Management Certificate or Diploma
PSIRA Grade A or B registration
Junior management training is advantageous
Experience
5–6 years’ experience in security operations or site supervision
Proven track record in guard supervision and site security management
Experience in control room operations and CCTV monitoring
Key Competencies
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Strong report writing and documentation skills
Proficiency in MS Office
Knowledge of evacuation and emergency procedures
Risk assessment and audit capability
