Icebolethu Group is currently recruiting 31 Temporary Female General Assistants for various branches across KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape. Successful candidates will assist with daily mortuary operations, funeral preparations, removals, cleaning duties, and supporting grieving families with professionalism, dignity, and compassion.
✅ Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric certificate
1–2 years’ experience within burial, mortuary, or funeral services advantageous
Good communication and organizational skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in emotionally challenging situations
Willingness to work weekends, overtime, overnight shifts, and public holidays
Physically fit and capable of handling demanding duties

Assist with body removals and transportation procedures
Register deceased information accurately and confidentially
Label, prepare, and store bodies correctly within mortuary facilities
Clean and prepare bodies before collection or post-mortem procedures
Sterilize mortuary and autopsy equipment according to hygiene standards
Maintain cleanliness within mortuary facilities and viewing areas
Assist families during body identification procedures respectfully
Prepare coffins and assist with funeral setup arrangements
Monitor mortuary access and visitor sign-in procedures
Support grave setup, chapel preparations, and hall decorations
Handle funeral lowering devices and related equipment carefully
