Nomabhodwe Training Services is seeking a qualified and experienced Firearm Instructor to deliver accredited firearms training in Umhlabuyalingana. The successful candidate will be responsible for training individuals in the safe handling, legal use, and operational competency of firearms in line with South African legislation and industry standards.
This role requires a disciplined, safety-focused professional with strong instructional ability and deep knowledge of firearm regulations, range safety, and competency certification procedures
π― Core Responsibilities
Training & Instruction Duties
Conduct theoretical and practical firearms training sessions for handguns, shotguns, rifles, and semi-automatic firearms
Demonstrate correct firearm handling, loading, unloading, and malfunction clearing techniques
Facilitate structured learning in both classroom and live-fire environments
Safety & Range Control
Enforce strict firearm range safety procedures at all times
Conduct safety briefings before all training sessions
Supervise live-fire exercises and respond appropriately to emergency situations
Legal & Compliance Training
Teach learners firearm legislation including the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000
Ensure compliance with SAPS and PFTC accreditation standards
Maintain adherence to legal requirements for firearm possession and use
Assessment & Certification
Assess learner competence through written and practical evaluations
Issue competency reports and training certification documentation
Maintain accurate training records and compliance paperwork
Weapon Handling & Maintenance
Demonstrate firearm cleaning, maintenance, and safe storage procedures
Train learners in proper inspection and safe operational readiness of firearms
π Minimum Requirements & Key Competencies
Valid PFTC accreditation or grading status
Certified competency in: Handgun, Shotgun, Self-loading rifle, Manual rifle
PSIRA Grade A or B registration (for security training functions)
Strong knowledge of firearms legislation and safety regulations
Excellent communication and instructional skills
Strong risk assessment and incident prevention ability
Ability to maintain discipline and control in training environments
Experience in firearms training is highly advantageous
