📋 Job Overview
Toyota is seeking a skilled Design Artisan Maintenance professional to join its Durban manufacturing operations. This permanent role is ideal for qualified Millwrights with strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience within industrial or automotive manufacturing environments.
The successful candidate will perform maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and upgrades on plant equipment including PLC systems, motors, conveyors, robotics, hydraulic systems, and paint facility equipment. The role also involves production support, equipment reliability improvements, Kaizen implementation, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
Applicants must be willing to work rotating shifts, overtime, and standby duties as operational requirements demand.
🛠️ Job Description
✔ Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on manufacturing equipment
✔ Conduct fault finding and repairs on PLC systems and robotics
✔ Maintain motors, conveyors, hoists, pumps, fans, lights, and spray systems
✔ Service paint equipment, pneumatic pumps, and motors
✔ Work with pneumatics, electro-pneumatics, and hydraulic systems
✔ Participate in machine upgrades and facility improvement projects
✔ Conduct legal compliance inspections and quality checks
✔ Perform TPMs and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations
✔ Respond to equipment breakdowns and support production operations
✔ Implement Kaizen initiatives and cost-saving improvements
✔ Improve MTTR and MTBF equipment performance targets
✔ Participate in quality circles and operational improvement teams
✔ Carry out standby duties, plant startup, and shutdown procedures
