As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Area Sales Manager to join our Baking Division. The purpose of this role is to manage sales of the company’s products and services in within a defined geographic area, province or country.
The role will be based in Pietermaritzburg and reports to the General Manager.
Minimum Requirements
Matric
Minimum Master’s Degree (preferably in Business administration, sales, marketing or arts).
2-4 years’ experience in sales. 2 of which must be as a Sales manager.
Valid Driver’s Licence
Duties & Responsibilities
Turnover
Draw up action plans for customer visits in conjunction with GM.
Monitor sales per route.
Reach budget set for Bakery.
Information Basis
Determine customer needs.
Check bread quality in shops.
Keep customer profiles.
Keep opposition profile and discuss with GM.
Check route times.
Customer Relations
Maintain good company image.
Handle complaints effectively.
Build up relationships with relevant community organisations.
Check sales team appearances, daily on route visits.
Reporting
Report to operations manager on general progress made
Responsible to operations manager for overall performance.
Training
Re-enforce “Working for customers” with sales team i.e. Core Service Values and Sunbake Primary Service Package as well as modules covered in “Route Management “course.
Monitor sales team conduct.
Give on-the-job training if required.
