AFGRI Equipment is inviting ambitious and technically minded individuals to apply for its 2026 Apprenticeship Programme. Successful candidates will receive structured workplace training toward qualifying as either a Tractor Mechanic or Earthmoving Mechanic.
AFGRI Equipment has represented the John Deere brand since 1962 and operates across numerous South African regions as well as internationally. Apprentices will gain practical experience working on agricultural machinery, construction equipment, forestry machinery, and turf maintenance equipment within professional workshop environments.
This apprenticeship combines practical workplace learning, institutional training, supplier product training, and technical development to prepare candidates for long-term careers in the diesel mechanic and earthmoving industries.

Successful apprentices will participate in a structured training programme that includes:
Assisting with servicing and repairing tractors and earthmoving machinery
Diagnosing mechanical and technical equipment faults
Conducting preventative maintenance on equipment
Learning workshop procedures and safety standards
Supporting stock control and parts management
Providing customer service assistance where required
Attending practical training phases and technical classes
Participating in internal supplier and specialist product training
